MMR Vaccine in Chiang Mai, Thailand
Have you had your MMR Vaccine?
Many people are uncertain or have no evidence of ever receiving the MMR vaccination. If you are not sure please check your vaccination records. If you have no record of receiving the MMR vaccine, then you should get vaccinated. The MMR vaccination is an effective & safe combined vaccine that gives protection for Measles, Mumps and Rubella (German Measles) in one injection. To complete the full course of MMR vaccination 2 doses are required. Measles, Mumps and Rubella are extremely infectious conditions that can have fatal complications, including meningitis, swelling of the brain (encephalitis) and deafness. CM Mediclinic recommends all children and adults are vaccinated against Measles, Mumps & Rubella with the MMR vaccine available at our medical clinic in Chiang Mai. Measles deaths alone were reduced by 84% from 2000 and 2016 due to vaccination and with the recent outbreak of German Measles (Rubella) in Japan (a popular holiday for Thai people), it is even more important to be vaccinated for MMR. It is also important to note that the MMR vaccine does not increase the risk of autism or increase the risk of passing on Measles, Mumps, or Rubella to others if recently immunised. The vaccination can be administered with other vaccines, however it is not recommended during pregnancy, although can be given while breastfeeding. For further information on the MMR vaccine or any of our other routine or travel vaccinations please contact us.
