Be Well in Chiang Mai’s Air Pollution

Be Healthy and Well During Chiang Mai's Burning Season

Be Well

Chiang Mai is a beautiful city located in northern Thailand and is a popular tourist destination. However, unfortunately, during the months of February to April, the city experiences pollution due to the burning of agricultural waste, which can cause health problems for visitors and locals alike. To stay healthy and well during Chiang Mai's pollution burning season, it is important to take certain precautions. In case you do feel unwell, it is recommended to visit CM Mediclinic for professional healthcare to be well and stay well.

Here are some tips for staying healthy during Chiang Mai's pollution-burning season:

1. Check the air quality index: You can use the AirVisual app or website to monitor the air quality in Chiang Mai. If the air quality is in the red or purple zone, it is recommended to stay indoors or wear a mask when outside. Please follow our IQAir AirVisual real-time air quality index (AQI) and PM2.5 air pollution monitoring station here: CM Mediclinic's Air Quality Monitor

2. Stay indoors: If the air quality is hazardous, it's best to stay indoors. Keep the windows and doors closed and use an air purifier, or if you have an air conditioning unit, use 3m filtrete to improve indoor air quality and filter out the harmful PM 2.5. If you need to go out, try to do it early in the morning, when the air quality can sometimes be relatively better.

3. Wear a mask: If you need to go outside, wearing a mask is an effective way to filter out harmful particles in the air. It is recommended to use a mask that is rated N95 or higher for the best protection.

4. Avoid outdoor activities: If the air quality is particularly bad, it is best to avoid outdoor activities such as running, cycling, or hiking. Instead, consider indoor activities like yoga, indoor sports, or visiting museums or galleries.

5. Stay hydrated: Drinking plenty of water helps your body flush out toxins and keeps it hydrated. It is important to drink at least 2 liters of water per day.

6. Eat healthy: Eating a balanced diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables can help boost your immune system and keep your body healthy.
