Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is a common virus that can cause serious respiratory illness in infants, young children, and older adults. In newborns, RSV can lead to bronchiolitis and pneumonia, sometimes requiring hospital care.
How does Abrysvo® help❓
Abrysvo® is a vaccine developed by Pfizer and is the only RSV vaccine currently approved for use during pregnancy. When given to expectant mothers between 32–36 weeks of gestation, it helps pass protective antibodies to the baby through the placenta. This provides the newborn with protection during the first six months of life, when they are most vulnerable to severe RSV illness.
